Best Snowboard Bindings

Prior to thinking about snowboard bindings buy boots. This is essential because its the only way to match correctly.

Choose the best snowboard binding and steer clear of potential setbacks. Make sure your bindings and your boots work together. If the binding is smaller than your boot, you might run into buckling problems or the binding could break due to the pressure build up. On the other hand, buying a binding that is too big for your snowboard boot will result in sliding. This can be an unpredictable situation. Moreover, a tight fit is a security precaution.

What binding is ideal for you? Just ask a store salesman. They usually work on commission so will be happy to help you locate the best board bindings for your boot type. If at all possible take your boots to the shop. This will reduce mismatch. If you can’t take your boots because you are buying on the web, just make sure you know what brand, size and any other relevant information. attempt to contact the store via email and ask for their recommendations based upon the information you furnish.

Binding measurements will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer; so always try before you buy. The Internet provide comparison charts matching up sizes and brands. This helps you harmonize board and binding combos.

Should I choose the Strap On or Step In style bindings? It is highly recommended that you choose strap on because they are the industry standard. Many stores stopped carrying the Step Ins because they negate control for tight turns.

In conclusion, matching the bindings with the proper boot/board combo is paramount. Ask around, make calls and check the charts. Then confidently purchase the perfect snowboard bindings.

Best Mens Snowboard Boots

Any shredder who knows snowboarding has been asked the same important question multiple times: How do I choose a snowboard boot. There are zillions options. It can be a massive task for a newbie. Fortunately, there are some rules that are universal.

First, decide on a max amount to spend. This is where some buyers make an error. If you have a complete gear budget of $500 and you are looking to buy boots, bindings and a board, you may think about splitting the money equally. Bad plan! A better plan of action would be to spend most of the money on some killer boots and then divvy out the rest for used bindings and a board. Crazy huh? Your boots are the most important component. Never skimp on foundation because it could ruin your riding experience. Good boots are essential If you are going to throw some dinero around, make it the boots.

Second, think about your boarding method. This is essential to boot picking and will confine your search. For freestyle style, choose a softer boot. For mountain riding, a stiff boot can’t be beat. A soft boot on big mountain riding is exhausting and lacks control, while a stiff boot in the pipe may cause rough landings.

Third, take into consideration the fit. Make sure to try on boots before the purchase. Make sure that the snowboard boots don’t move around to much. It should be a tight fit, but not so snug that cuts circulation. Boots will loosen up over time and you don’t want too much shifting. You can get inserts if needed. This usually alleviates the problem.

Finally, options for lacing. There several things to think about There is the standard lacing, the BOA system, and Burton’s fast lace. Check all three so you get a nice fit. Find out what works for you.

Deciding on an appropriate pair of snowboard boots can be important. Just decide what you need and make the best choice. When you take everything into consideration, you will find the best option.

How to Make a Semi-Professional Snowboard Video

This is what you need: a digital camera with video, a PC or MAC with a free video editing program (they come with Windows and Mac), and a few unrehearsed sessions.

First, record everything. I mean everything, the wipe outs, the lame conversations on the lift, the bong hits afterward…everything! Don’t lose anything! It’s better to have tons of useless video than have to come up short when it comes time to edit.

Now, upload everything to the computer 5 or 6 favorite songs. Obviously fast loud beats with splashy rhythms are best.

Now lets edit. Open up Windows Movie Maker or iMovie on the Mac. Both of these programs can produce some truly professional looking vids. If you’ve never used these programs then read the tutorials or just spend a few hours playing with them.

The first scene will begin with slow friendly music and introduce the cast. The first boarding shot will then start when the first song peaks. A song that starts out slow and then picks up quickly will work best. Follow this up with some carving or some simple tricks.

Next will be a compilation of tricks interspersed with high fives, hugs, chest bumps (for the dudes). This is where you want to start using the tweaking features that are included with the video editing program. You can add text, spin or fade between scenes.

The third scene with be eating, talking, and other non-riding. You can use a little music, but fade it in and out or keep it quiet in the background. Just make it funny.

Next, back to the slopes with heavy thrash music. Mid way in this scene display wipe outs and the bone breakers. Screams and whining are always a good touch. End this section with the best tricks that you recorded, a big air, back flip. You get the picture.

End the movie with some comments about the day. The song needs to be slow to show closure and end with a still shot or a fade. Done!

Mens Snowboard Jacket

There are a few factors boarders should consider when buying a new jacket: The Tri-Layer System, Weatherproofing, and Style. Lets take a look at each one.

Respect The Tri-Layer System to stay warm, dry and comfortable regardless of the weather. The first layer keeps warmth close to the skin. It usually comes in the form of thermal underwear or spandex for all you pretty boys and girls. Above that you throw on a warm sweater. I choose fleece because its light and always stays dry. The third layer is aptly called the shell. This is the jacket and where fashion and function meld into one.

A good jacket protects you in three ways: defends against water, keeps out the wind, and allows air flow. Only buy coats that are waterproof at 120 to 150 centimeters. Basically a plastic tube is placed on the material and filled with a specified amount of water before bleeding through. If that amount is less than 120 then it’s no good, don’t buy it!

There are no specifications to look for when considering windproofing, but if it’s sufficiently waterproofed then it should keep the wind out.

Lastly, you need a jacket that breathes. When you start ripping it up the body releases all kinds of moisture. You want the moisture out because it will freeze on the way back up the lifts. A nice jacket will have fabric that releases that moisture into the air. How does a waterproof fabric let water in but not out? I don’t know, it just does. Ask Burton!

As far as style goes thats your perogative. Buy some tight threads that match your personality. Just please don’t color coordinate to the point you look like a freakin magazine model…unless of course your personality is that of a complete douche bag. Done!

Get the best deal on Burton Moto Snowboard Boots!

This boot is perfect for the beginner to intermediate rider. The Burton Moto is the most popular boot on the mountains. I really like this boot for three main reasons: easy to lace, comfortable and somewhat cheap.

It’s is so damn easy to lace up. It uses Burton’s Speed Zone Express lacing which is tricky at first, but once you get use to it you wont want anything else. I can get the boots on and off in a matter of seconds. You simply just wrap the stretch lace around a few buttons, pull and tuck. No more fat shoe laces that get covered in ice or come loose halfway down the mountain.

For comfort I give the boot an 8 out of 10. Like most quality boots these days, the Burton Moto comes with a liner that is heat-moldable. This is where the snowboard shop heats the interior lining up with some machine and then you strap the boots on for about fifteen to twenty minutes. The liner then cools down and literally molds to your foot. I also like to insert an arch support to give me extra balance and control.

As far as price goes the Moto is pretty reasonable. I like to buy new gear from the year before. You can get amazing deals on 09 boots from closeout websites and the like.

Overall this is a great boot. The only thing I would not use it for is park riding. Many boarders complain that it is too soft.
