This boot is perfect for the beginner to intermediate rider. The Burton Moto is the most popular boot on the mountains. I really like this boot for three main reasons: easy to lace, comfortable and somewhat cheap.
It’s is so damn easy to lace up. It uses Burton’s Speed Zone Express lacing which is tricky at first, but once you get use to it you wont want anything else. I can get the boots on and off in a matter of seconds. You simply just wrap the stretch lace around a few buttons, pull and tuck. No more fat shoe laces that get covered in ice or come loose halfway down the mountain.
For comfort I give the boot an 8 out of 10. Like most quality boots these days, the Burton Moto comes with a liner that is heat-moldable. This is where the snowboard shop heats the interior lining up with some machine and then you strap the boots on for about fifteen to twenty minutes. The liner then cools down and literally molds to your foot. I also like to insert an arch support to give me extra balance and control.
As far as price goes the Moto is pretty reasonable. I like to buy new gear from the year before. You can get amazing deals on 09 boots from closeout websites and the like.
Overall this is a great boot. The only thing I would not use it for is park riding. Many boarders complain that it is too soft.
